How did "HIKE IT & SPIKE IT" get started? We were playing in a one-time only flag-football tournament against Chad Curtis (That's right! The Major League Baseball player) when things got a little crazy. We played against Chad's team in the first game and won, which propelled us to go undefeated. Our team matched up against Chad's in the finals, where we lost the first game. It was getting late, and a little dark. Instead of holding to the double elimination format, the organizers called the tournament. They awarded Chad's team first place. We were sure we would have won that second game. We decided to run our own charity-based flag-football event in hopes of one day meeting up with "Chad and his all-stars" and playing that elusive, final game. Plus, we knew we could do it better! |
